SPRINGTIME SONGS
Erika Biggers
Gentle are the songs of springs
Whose beauty is untold.
Delicate is the rain of April
Dew drops clear and cold.
Vivid are the blooms of may,
Their colors clear and bold!
---------------------------------------------------
The earth adores you,
It sends valentines daily,
They arrive in the form of rainbows.
A cloudburst of heaven,
soft petals fall like rain,
For you I would cast such a spell.
Anon.

POETRY

Saturated emotions
Penned with letters
Hung out on clotheslines
Scented by breezes
Dried by sunlight
And worn by nudes...

Strange Brew
By ABS
I'm a wild child on Fridays
I throw back a few
Stumble around in a haze -
But it's just Mountain Dew.
My liver doesn't like
The hard stuff, he says
I say "that's ok"
As I soothe him with Pez.
My wacky, wacky lifestyle -
So dangerous, I know.
But my liver is lazy -
He likes to go slow.
So next Friday night
At the funnel I'll pass
Because Mountain Dew tastes better
And it won't give you gas.

West, along the bayou, the pavement soon turns to gravel
In front of Charlene's house, the one choked by morning glory,
Crowded with cedars. Here, the houses end. The lane is a jumble
Of blackberry, honeysuckle, elderberry. Down here, no worry
Or anxious thought stays in mind; the eyes wanders, jays squawk,
All other sounds are absorbed. At an ancient tree, scarred by lightning,
The road dips to a wooden bridge where cypress and swamp
Urge to the road's edge--water washes perpetually to the bayou sink.
Beyond the swamp, is a lawn hewn from woods and briar,
Where there are playhouses of gaudy, clashing colors, set like jewels
On a green velvet cushion. A kind, hermitlike, man lives there.
At the bridge, dark water mixes with brown, a fish swirls,
Minnows skitter. I walk to the bright colors--a mad painter's hues,
Without concern of scorn. Gingerbread moldings and spinning whirlygigs
Adorn windows and doors, pink on blue, yellow on red, more blues
Between sky and sea, seen through the old man's eyes. Amidst trees, plum & fig,
I see his white hair through the screen, his summer bedroom, chaffed
Door where hinges are askew. Lucky Strike smoke drifts where
His head lies on a simple Army cot. He will rise soon, make coffee
In the yellow house, his kitchen, then to the pink one to read.

Prince Philip and The 'Mato
Sean Schemmel
'Twas a fine spring day in England, Prince Philip greets a crowd,
but not everyone was friendly, not everyone was loud.
Lurking quietly 'mongst the little camera boys and little camera girls,
lurking 'mongst the Papa and the Razzi, 'mongst all the people swirls;
Was a thing of such malicious evil, such heinous dark intent,
a thing with a terrible sinister plan, a soul, morbid and bent.
It spies it's target stately walking, waving, shaking hands,
Handsomely smiling at Papa and Razzi, meeting all his Royal demands.
Closer and closer the creature encroaches the Prince, the Future King;
Unbeknownst to the secret guard who think they see everything.
The awful intent of this sneaky monster is suddenly revealed!
It grips a shiny red-ripe Tomato and aims carefully 'cross the field.
With terrible anger and terrific force it hurls it's tasty projectile;
Flying over plebeian heads- Prince Philip still waves and smiles.
The oily joy in the assassin's heart quickly begins to swell-
evenly with each passing moment, the 'Mato continues to sail.
And just as the dastardly deeds desires are seemingly going to be met,
The 'Mato misses the Prince completely- and merely grazes his hat.

DREAMS
KIMI SMITH
Do dreams really come true?
Or do people just hope it so much that they begin to believe
that dreams do come true?
When am I going to experience this thing that every one say is so wonderful?
Or will I ever be able to?
I too have a dream, I want to become a veterinarian.
But will it ever happen?
Maybe, maybe not!
Who's to say?

brat
WENDY LEDERHAUS
I HAVE A PET - HIS NAME IS RATT. AT FOURTEEN WEEKS HE'S REALLY A BRAT.
NOW THIS THREE POUND PUP IS CUTE, OF COURSE. HE TALKS, BUT NOT LIKE MR. ED, THE HORSE.
HE'S GOT RAZOR SHARP TEETH THAT ARE READY TO PIERCE. HIS WEE LITTLE BARK CAN BE PLAYFUL OR FIERCE.
HE'S PLAYFUL AND SASSY, HIS BELLY IS FAT. HE TRIES OH, SO HARD TO BE FRIENDS WITH THE CAT.
JUST LIKE A LITTLE BABY HE PLAYS, EATS AND NAPS, BUT PUTS UP A FUSS WHEN IT'S TIME FOR HIS BATH.
WHEN NITE TIME COMES HE HATES TO BE ALONE. SO HE JOINS US IN BED. OUR ATTENTION HE OWNS.
HE WAKES ME 'ROUND TWO WITH A LICK ON THE CHEEK. I LET HIM OUTSIDE SO HE CAN TAKE A LEAK.
WHEN MORNING COMES HE'S READY TO PLAY. HE'S PRECIOUS TO ME AND REALLY MAKES MY DAY!

AND FOUND
Rick Richardson
Jesus drives a taxicab
on the Spanish side of town
but when he's runnin' low
he moonlights as a clown
at the circus on the corner
of the Castaway Motel
where the junkies and the whores sleep
when they are out on bail
The circus isn't very big
it used to be a church
before God moved on down the road
to Main and Thirty-first
There's a pair of antique elephants
a toothless three-legged lion
a fat lady on a high wire
made from an old clothes line
When Jesus takes the center ring
the congregation gathers round
take a drink of the sacrament
and pass the bottle round
There are poor souls
lost souls
and those with no soul at all
sitting there with a blank stare
while the roll is called
If you are ever lost
and find yourself
on this lonely side of town
come on in and catch a glimpse
of the laughing crying clown
For the price of the admission
you can bet that it's a steal
the smile is painted on
but don't you know
the tears they are for real

Imagine living you life
as a tree along side a rocky road.
Dust filled cones, whispering groans,
foreign homes.
Innovation of man paving your road,
Paving your soul.

I AM NOT INVISIBLE
Elaine Spencer
Do not walk around me
as though I am not even there.
Do not carry on conversations
without giving me a care.
Do not huddle in groups
and leave me sitting alone.
Do not label me unfriendly
as so many others have done.
If you assume I am unfriendly
then you would be wrong.
I am not invisible
I want to be amongst.

Smile
By Rose
So close,
But so far away.
So near,
But unreachable.
I want you,
But can't have you.
Can't have,
Your Smile.
Your Smile,
I'm not allowed.

Georgine
P. Clancy
The moon
the lake
the sandy shore

you and me

kissing passionately
together
moving in rhythm
the moment comes
total pleasure
I lean back to scream
you follow
muffling my sound
with a kiss

PEACE
pat vinyl
in a nutshell
we know
that not even god knows
what to do here
god is so kind

it will have to be made
by those
who have seen enough
of god's slaughter

No Smoking
Mary
This is such a joke
You should not smoke
If you do,
pay the price
It was your hand that rolled the dice
If you smoke,
Remember it is your fate
Like a fish on a hook
but you're the bait

CONVERSATION
OVER DINNER
LISA JAMES
Around the kitchen table, with friends
Who are more yours than mine,
Friends who belong to your generation and
Your school of thought,
I catch a glimpse of the feelings
That you hide behind your calm smile.
Your few softly spoken words,
Over a meal and wine, set to the tune of Brahms,
Words that appear to merely proclaim
The innocence of youth,
Tell me more than a thousand sincerities from you
About the thoughts and feelings your heart beats.
These thoughts are ones I would never know
If it had not been for a casual, careless word to a friend.
Which showed how fundamentally different we are
And how you have left me alone.

The Animal in Me
Derrick Sitton
There is an Eagle in me.
With feathers like a silent thunder
and eyes like a predator in the night.
It crows through me like an eagle looking for prey.
It soars like a jet through the air.
It lives in my heart
and it just makes me want to fly away.
I wish I could fly away from all my troubles.
There is a wolf in me.
It has fur as black as midnight
and it's paws are so powerful.
It howls through the tall grass in the depths of my mind.
It lives very deep in my mind
and makes me want to howl at every thing that moves.
I wish I could bite through all the troubles in my life.

My Favorite Thing
Rebekah
The deep blue color of the sea,
Is so very pleasing to me,
So many days would I love to sit on that soft sand,
yet I'm stuck in the high school band,
I dream of a day having a house on the beach,
watching the beautiful humpback whales breach,
that day is still yet to come,
to see that beautiful blue ocean in my back yard,
would be ever so pleasing to me.

KILLING TIME
By Jonas Wilkinson
You stare through me,
I am fake.
Not like you,
you are flawless,
in every essence,
PERFECT.
I often doubt you even exist.
Are you as real as you seem?
My love,
My fantasy,
My dream never to come true.
It eats me up inside,
It's killing me.
And I'm just killing time.

Girl With A
Red Hat
richard
Oh girl with a red hat
oh girl with a red hat
what an interesting girl
you must be;
to have chosen a hat
of such scarlet rose red
oh what are the colors you see?
as you walk down the street
as you pass by the lake,
as you open your eyes
when you wake?
oh girl with a red hat,
oh girl with a red hat,
oh when will your eyes
come see me?

tonight we had pasta. tonight sparkled. but just
before i left i saw a young woman run into my
room, slam the door behind her and watched
her face contort ever so slowly, that sickening,
silent stifle of suppression spiraling on the
mouth and eyes. the silence before an
incredibly violent sob and i saw it i saw anguish
and anguish was ugly, ugly like high school or the
ass of a baboon. however the night was
wonderful it splintered open with
raindrops and infernos and a leafy
canopy shielding our little elf heads from it

A common snapshot
Jerry W. Ward, Jr.
Green lightening glides,
He surmised, upon the knuckles.
The rush of it, the risk of it,
So incredible
It would magnify an ordinary life
Just where bone might smash
Or skin, perplexed by such power,
Curl back like a red sea.
There is something biblical
When a man's eyes bank fire.
His mouth begs the question
Of covenants struck with air.

phases
TheBreathInBetween
Her beauty, soft milky skin, sapphire eyes, lucid presence,
the night ablaze humid air jerking a tear for the homeless,
phone call mothers dying fly down meet her asleep,
cries from the alleys small white eyes faint in the darkness,
peer in mirror and see straight through to the other side,
quiet machinery blazing carelessly into the twilight sky,
neon lights the perfect scene for this vision of death,
the ground giving way and i still walk, still walk,
semi-permanence is the idea tonight,
semi-existence to drink and sleaze,
women dressed to please man,
man dressed to clean themselves of women,
the fire is still alight from the day just gone,
this is no release, this is no escape,
drink there pity in gallons, shoot galleries harmless fun,
this city life is burning itself to the ground,
there is no point to evolve, just drink to pity, for the pitiful,
a women stares as she walks a secret evil in her eye,
a man sings along with a banjo shaved head hallucinating,
a sight to behold tonight,
i will never sleep again...

WHERE
cocotte
we al make mistakes
we've all seen our part of devils in these angel towns we've all walked a long hard road of pain,
where there's no fairies in these tales.
where we all have cried,
where we have all dreamed of a savior,
where he'd teach us how to survive this hell hole.
where we want to take over our lives,
where life is no longer an option,
where pain becomes happiness, our state of mind
where our hearts dont bother searching, we want to die,
we want to end it all.
where even moving on doesn't seem possible,
where we will always live without a hope.

Forever
Susanna Jolie
Familiar voices
filled my head and
faces masking the reaper
took over my mind and
I traced flowers
lining the box they stuffed you in.
My eyes listened to the man
at the podium but my ears
were exploding and my head
was on fire and the words
never entered my brain.
My cheeks soaked with
acid rain and my mouth was salty and
I couldn't breathe because
I didn't need words
to know
the absence of you.

-Your Pervasive Ways-
james diaz
When I remember your face its not quite the same
It seems you've changed
Perhaps that's only natural because you went away
On that cloudy hazy morning leaving me in shame
Alone outside your doorstep just worrying about
How I was going to get home
Would I have to walk those long dreary 4 miles home
O that would be too dreadful
But I could not gather the strength to arise
And you did come out and tell me to go inside and sit down
Why sit out here in the cold so alone?
Because it was necessary for me to embrace the pain
To be accustomed to it to prepare for it
Why is it now that I remember all the times
Where we hugged and kissed and made love
So many times I remember the good times the connection our souls made
But you seem to hide things so cunningly hidden so well
Well why was I the one who bared my soul and gave you everything to see
But I see you now and then and I know you think of me and wonder what
Those thoughts are-you said I was too emotional-maybe I am because you
Affected me so deeply-that's why-because I see no shame in being true to ones self

Hi, I am desperately trying to find someone who may know the following poem which my late mother used to recite. I stumbled across this site and apologize if it is not the correct venue for my search. Help!!!
At eve I saw a lovely scene,
High in Heaven's celestial screen,
There like a pearl on a gown of jet,
Hung the crescent moon where the sun had set.
It seemed to me as there I gazed,
That God, perhaps in a practical haze,
Had placed the star to anchor the moon,
In case it should drift from the sky too soon.
The poem is incomplete but it all I can remember.

on being alone
Heather Koch
Solitary.
Fragments of frost-edged glass,
cold to sight
sharp to touch
will make you bleed
icy tears flowing
from your chilled heart
aches swelling
deep from within
where you thought nothing
could touch you
reach you
hurt you
wound you.
Nothing is safe anymore.

SEED OF DOUBT
Craig McCaughey
These dark dreams that stalk the night
Feeding on the plethora of souls that lose the fight
Those who give up their aspirations of their own free will
Only deepen the darkness of these nightmares still
Slowly, silently they drift into the mind
Polluting the goodness that they find
Wiping away life's very existence
From those who offer no resistance
Deep within life's core the seed is planted
There it grows and is slowly fomented
Nourished by anxiety it evolves into doubt
Who will cleanse this cancer out?

A Part Meant For You
Emily Stevens
I find myself thinking about you
more then i should allow
you somehow sneak into my dreams
more then i should allow
there is an uncontrollable part of me
meant especially for you
as hard as i try to suppress
the part of me dedicated to you
i can't
and deep down i don't really want to
for too long my eyes have been fixed on you
they tend to occasionally stray
but they always return to you
with your deep teal puppy eyes
it doesn't matter what I'm doing
your always on my mind
it doesn't matter what your sowing
even when you ridicule me, avoid me, or even make me cry
there is always a place for you in my heart
so let it be known to you and to all even though i miss you so,
a part of my heart is meant for you
so much that you have done has changed me so
we always end up together
not knowing if i have a place in your heart
scares me from expressing my feelings to you
but know that part of me
will always love you
no matter how much i cry for the time we are apart
there is always a place for you here in my heart

Tomorrow I will be blind
Matt Varga 2000
I can walk through my eyes
for hey are wastelands.
I can see through my hands
for they are empty.
What use are my arms
if i cannot hold you?
What use are my eyes
If I see no beauty?
Yet you are there and I am blind
My lungs feel the sickly touch of smoke,
And there you are,
Only to dissipate with the sun.
I have not dreamed until this night,
And now I live in sleep,
And there you are.
Once more I see, once more I remember,
Once more like dove you fly to my hands
And there you are.
Tonight I take a feather from your wing
for tomorrow I will be blind again.

I
Am That Kind Of Warrior
Duane M. Dodson
I am that kind of warrior
Who's never been to war.
But not because I haven't found
Some things worth fighting for.
It's just that I've found ways that will
For me accomplish more.
I am that kind of warrior
Who counters no attack.
When enemies would face me down,
I simply turn my back.
And let them shout about the courage
That they think I lack.
I am that kind of warrior
Who doesn't claim a clan.
I march with all who'll march with me...
As many as I can.
It's hard to find a battle when
Your company is Man.
I am that kind of warrior
Whom none can train to hate.
One cannot battle ignorance,
So God would have me wait,
And live my life in such a way
That some would imitate.
I am that kind of warrior
For whom some folks have fought.
And I will pass that legacy
If it should fall my lot.
But, till that time, my spear stays cold,
So that my love stays hot.

A Child's Cry
Heather Moore
Tears drip from a child's eyes
Pain fills her whole inside
memories she begins to find
Slowly she searches for a place to confide
fear hollars and screams inside
will justice come the question she awaits each day
revenge she wonders if that will pay
how much longer can she survive
a day she awaits
a day that makes her cry
torture strikes her everyday
death would of made everything easy
together they sit
together they wait
for an answer that will determine her fate
together they cry, together she slowly comes alive
yet fear slowly kills her inside
six years, seven years, what
no matter what it's not enough
she knows that there will always be that day
he'll be released and her life might be what really pays
either way justice won't be served
from a country that puts rape below murder
how much time will a person pay
for murdering a child's innocence each and everyday

ONE LOVE
By: james v.
The girl that holds my heart, tightly gripped. ripped it out my chest. Left me for some other life And now my world is all a mess. Insanity is all my mind can think, and now the steps I walk upon lead to missing links. I feel the love between us both, But I just cant seem to cope. Not to far from giving up, wont be drinking from his cup. nor break his bread, for all the things i've done and said. But if someday we walk together, on bended knee, I'll wait for her forever.

Poetic Justice , it finds a way,
to teach a man , he has to pay.
For things he's done through out his life,
be it peace or be it strife.
We find one soul upon the stand,
his deeds are told and deaths at hand.
He kicks his feet as he gasps for breath,
taut, oiled rope snaps his neck.
When they cut him down the breath escapes,
gone to hell his soul to take.
It comes alive in a fiery pit,
Poetic Justice, remember it ....

ONE"S WAY
Michael D. Yaniga
One can only truly live life,
When life is lived ones way.
Not by society,
Or by the way people have been told,
the way life should be lived.
But by the way one wants to live life.
Once one lives life in a way that is their own.
Than one will be set free,
And one and I will be me...

The year of the flame
Reagan through the switch
Dear God what a shame
There s bodies here, bodies there
Exposed to the nuclear sun
the smell of death is in the air
Our days are all but done
Day after disaster.
death and destruction a world of corruption
And radiation from nuclear bombs
Bone bleaching heat my future looks bleak
And soon my brains will be gone
My future looks fine and dandy
Eating lots of radiation candy
I talk to my self, feels like i'm in hell
But my future looks fine and dandy

World"
Kristin White
Her eyes reflect a scared little girl
Who's lost in her own little world
Not sure of what street to take
For fear of what it'll make
Unaware of why she is here
Dragging through the day and holding back the tears
Wondering if its worth living
There's only so much she can keep giving
Will the fear in her eyes ever go away
Or is her life in this hell here to stay
She'll continue searching until she finds her way
Whether this way leads to happiness or darkness no one can say.

Life is where,

It's a farce
Far be it from me
To fathom the force
Some call faith
And how cynical
Circles within circles
Laughing at science
Silencing all attempts
At explanation
Comedy can't comprehend
The prank
Man has pulled upon
Himself
Hands reaching up to a place
We know not where
Wisdom
What a wicked word
For it fools itself
Frightened by what
It won't attempt to comprehend
Hands reaching for a hand out
From an almighty enigma
There is sorrow
In my Sarcasm
Circles within circles
Hands reaching
For a reward in the end
And I am left

'The ignorance of the educated'
A. Gregson
Distorted malignant face,
In the high ranking politeness of society,
Twists of evil lurk beneath the surface,
Facial traces expose corruption and fascism,
Your stagnant mind manifests and pollutes life,
It's repulsive prejudices oozing to the surface,
Disappointment at THEIR acceptance of your ignorance,
Silenced, dumbed by the awe of your status,
Disgust rises inside me,
Hope dies as ignorance pulsates its ugly head in 'educated minds',
Anger wells up through me and takes seat in my mouth,
I will not be silenced nor dumbed into submission,
High profile combines with what you are,
Making a repulsive concoction of irrational hatred,
I unleash my wrath and strike you down,
It is the ignorance in the educated, that crawls,
Out of insect infested mouths with NO excuse.

The Saint
Pamela Jokey
You are not alone
For I am always by your side
I'll be there to listen
And dry the tears you've cried
You were always there for me
When ever I needed you
So many times when I have failed
You always pulled me through
You are not alone
I'll protect you from the wind and the rain
To be the one that shelters you
From the things that cause you pain
You are not alone
And remember when hope seems faint
That you can count on me to be there
To catch my falling saint

Alone
Steve Schmid
night falls
i sit alone
and wait for the sun
a new day to come
why do i look ahead?
i really don't know
the feeling of loneliness
is too much for me to bear
another day brings
another chance to be
the man i want to be
and the man i should be
I know that every night
the sun will go down
only to rise the next morning
for everyone to bask in its glory
am i like the sun?
do i rise and fall?
i feel close to what i've been looking for
and as i search along the far reaches of my mind
i sit back and dream
and wait for the sun to rise
so i can face another day
and hope that my impact
is felt all across the world
and maybe i can make a difference
just wait for the sun to rise

Angel
Delta
She descended from heaven on the wings of a dove
And became the very epitome of perfection
She inspires sweet poetry and unrequited love
And stands alone as the object of my affection
Without her, my soul is dying
Without her, I'm turning to stone
Without her, my heart is crying
Without her, I'm all alone
For I've seen heaven and it wears a human face
She keeps a puppet string on my heart
She transcends the entire human race
The heavens created, and I loved her from the start
My sweet beloved, Claire D.
Three simple words, I love you

I am morning mist that dies to be sunshine
Searching each bloom for the corolla that is my mother

In their sleepless ambition to be beyond themselves
I sweat misgivings that here lies the way
And cry for tree, wind, or stone to say to me, yes.

I once was lost in a beautiful land,
hidden by jungles and sun roasted sand.
Together we were and reality distant thought,

Our passion inspired by mortar and gold
as we quietly walk through temples of old.
Visions of monks and chants ancient past,
these beautiful memories will everlast...

but it hurts me only sometimes...
Like when I know you lie,
or when you are not there
and you are for certain not here.
You tell me half of the already stretched truth,
and I believe you with half of my already broke heart.
The other half you martyred.

I Thought of a Place
Mrs. Christina L.
Bowker
I thought of a place where the sun always shines,
Where the tree trunks are embraced by emerald vines.
Where there are pillowy clouds in a bed of sapphire blue,
Where the wind softly sings backup to the leaves songs of youth.
Where the green grass is brushed with flowers of gold, purple and red,
Where there is no rain, but tears of joy instead.
Where I need not worry about worldly affairs,
Where laughter and happiness isn't at all rare.
Where I feel pretty, and my heart is light,
Where it seems like every star is visible each night.
Where sorrow cannot claim me,
Where Love is forever true.
I thought of a place...
In the heart of you.

Those Eyes
Megan Cashion
Those eyes that look,
They deepen the soul,
Casting exorbitant stares into the moonlit sky.
They see the world in it's true shape.
They acknowledge the work of others.
Those eyes, they see things,
Enviable, so soft or dull.
Everything was meant to be,
If seen in those eyes.

Sleeping with You
~Colee
your eyes are wide in wonder
at a girl you'd like to know
my desire burns slowly
coming fully to you
I touch your skin
I like you next to me
I like the scent of you surrounding me
I know its wrong
I know you are so bad for me
but I can't deny my instincts
I can't turn it all away
I want to lay down with you again
I want to feel your heartbeat
as I lay my head on your chest
I want our legs entwined in comfort
can't we make our fantasies complete?

Snow of
mine
Alexei
Just another winter...
One more sad winter
I really feel its touch
The clouds above
Cover me with snow
I've got too much
And I lay here wrapped up in a downy veil
I feel no coldness 'cause I'm the frost
I feel no estrangement 'cause I'm the host
I'm still alive despite of motionless limbs
And ice goes at a crawl inside my heart still pulsed
My forest fell asleep, no bird flying, no beast roaming
My nature's dream I enter to stay for thousand years
Hold me in throll, I'm yours
Dost let me come to myself
Cold darkness doth shut my eyes
I'm doom'd to see no Sunrise
I found a place I search'd for
My spirit is the purest one
My soul is re-born again
Untill the first spring rain...
The slumber holdeth me back from the awaken song
Escap'd from reality I dwell at the other side
Somehow I find the sense in the gloom ere long
And the seventh angel guideth me hither to the light
In the thicket, cover'd with leafage mixed with snow
Seek out my grave, try to find me here by the glow
Hold out thy hands into the frozen soil
Feel a presence of the dark
Kiss me deep, that's what I need
Warm up my blood and take my iced heart
Bewitch'd by a sorcerer of woods
Shackle'd with the ancient rules
The life is just snow which falleth on thy skin
In thy eyes I see the brilliance went out
So let it fall above from pitch-dark clouds
My wither'd mother-nature
Watch the snow of mine
Look at its thawing
...and let me die
--------------------------------------
I feel like i'm in rewind
and time turning back
and space is building me up,
I am on a hillside atop a mountain,
peering over the universe,
and i can see the inevitability,
There is but time,
soon the cold hard truth will hit,
The emptiness is but fullness,
and strung between this revelation is hope,
Hope for more,
Hope for less,
Hope for love
But this whole is everything,
that which wakes us in the night,
shakes us from death,
and glares at us from behind,
Security is an illusion,
a small price for life,
Among the dead I must walk,
feeling translucent,

Everyday is the same-
ben harper
Wiping away the tears of frustration
As i reminisce of the day gone by.
But there is something strange,
I remember the morning - happy
I remember the afternoon - happy
But the evening is different.
There is no more laughter,
And there is no more happiness.
Just the heavy thoughts that hang in my mind,
Crying to be let out.
A piece of paper and a pen is my best friend-
The one and only I can tell my thoughts and secrets.
The only one that lets me have my thoughts and ideals,
And doesn't question me.

Poem #1
Angela Hopkins
Let us go then, you and I
Into this barren world,
With sparkling thoughts and misty dreams
Into the frosty cold.
Your very essence warms my heart.
So let us go then, arm in arm
Both knowing and prepared to fight,
Our spirits high and calm.
Let us go then, hand in hand
Into the violent seas.
I promise! on the other side there's land
Of noble wishes and of peace.

"The Glory of the Field"
By: Geoffrey
Bridges
And the glory of the field shall speak to thee
Telling the tale of the many men
Who fought and perished here.
The sanguine blood in the field across the way,
Yields the crop of many men.
And the lilies grow from the field and resound
the cry of the perished ones in the field
across the way.
The tears and anger and pain
keep the soil company
and the grass grows greener, still.
Listen, and you, too,
shall hear the cry of the lilies;
the lilies weep for thee.

YOU HAVE BEEN MY EYES THAT HAS GUIDED ME THROUGH THE DARKNESS IN MY LIFE. YOU HAVE BEEN MY EYES THAT HAS BROUGHT ME TO THE LIGHT. YOU HAVE BEEN MY SHIELD THAT
PROTECTS ME FROM PAIN AND EVIL. YOU HAVE BEEN MY SHIELD THAT PROTECTS ME FROM HURT. BUT BEST OF ALL, YOU HAVE BEEN MY HEART, THAT HAS SHOWN ME THE DEEPEST LOVE I'LL EVER FEEL. YOU ARE MY LOVE, YOU ARE MY LIFE, YOU ARE MY EVERYTHING.

Stars beckon me to come
Please come
Please come a callen
Didn't you know? Another star has fallen
You know I would if I could
To go. I surly would
A spaceship is what I would need
A trusty steed. Yes indeed
So if you wonder why I don't go?
Just ask any banker, they always know
For to build my steed. My trusty steed
It's money I would need
But alas my funds are low
On empty my cash doth flow
Money is what I need
Money! Yes indeed

A FOOL'S PARADISE
bbark
What fool's paradise this
Beating neath my breast
That I may do well to venture fare
Other than a reckless plight
Where broken hearts and shattered dreams take part
How is it to all meaningful I should lose sight
Would that I awaken far better it be
To tread the road to happiness
and see the Light smiling there.

MY HUSBAND
Pamela D Pressley
You have been my friend, Since the day we met.
I wouldn't let go, Anyone would've bet.
I wanted to stick with you Through thick and thin.
You'd push me away, And I'd come back again.
We will always be tough And always be strong.
Even when everything is Going all wrong.
We don't let our problems Get in the way.
We talk them out And get on with the day.
Your such a nice and Wonderful man,
I always love it, When you hold my hand.
You always do things That is so nice.
All that you do Adds more spice.
We fell in love and Then got married,
This is something That will always be carried.
Always remember and Keep in mind,
A real true love Is hard to find.

JEALOUSY
Thelma Warren
I thought I was over it
but oh how I was wrong.
God looked and saw my need.
Gave to me a new song.
He reached into my heart
and took away the pain.
Erased the jealousy.
It was to be my gain.
He showed me how to give
in order to receive.
Giving Him room to work,
helping me to believe.
His infinite wisdom
lifts scales so I might see.
The need of another
is far greater than me.

Just another soul, awaiting destiny,
Only will the future show, until eternity.
Every single passing day, lets the light shine through,
Letting me skip the time, that belongs to me and you.
Going on a journey, far away from here,
Let me take you with me, and set your mind to clear.
Enough about the future, let's go back to now,
Nearing all dimensions to stop and take a bow.
Networking my friends with others,
Moving past all objectives with very many bothers.
control feels hopeless but I'll pull through it,
Quieting my eager soul when finally can do it.
Upon a dark and gloomy hill, I often wonder why,
Eternal lies and silent cries can cause one to die.
Even though I'll never know,
Nothing but patience will show.

A Holiday Poem!!!!

It's Halloween, and we aren't even scared,
but witches and goblins are everywhere
pumpkins and ghosts are out at night,
cats are black and meow out of site,
bones are shaking, rattling too,
and kids are shouting Happy Halloween to You!!!

"Uneasy Soul"
Calvin McChesney
2/2000
It's the witching hour, the dense fog grips the castle walls
The ancient bells do midnight toll
Angry moans echo through the long, dark corridor
Those harassing sounds of a lost, uneasy soul
Footsteps now accompany the miserable voice
Your legs feel like lead, you stand frozen with fear
Strained eyes search the veil of blackness
While the phantom creeps ever so near
Your mouth opens wide as if to scream
But fright won't allow your voice a sound
Your heart races and sweat pours
Why are there no other people around
Each second, breaths come and go faster
The hackles on your neck are raised
The evil you hear is almost upon you
All you can think to do is pray
You feel the air around you turn cold
That strange crying voice is only a few steps away
The specter is now within reach
The only words you can eek out are "Please no!"
For a brief moment your mind wonders
Why did I spend the night in this haunted place
Please Lord, let me awake from this nightmare
You close your eyes very tight, and firmly grimace your face
Just as you expect the sting of death's embrace
You feel soft fur in-circle your feet
You summon the courage to open one eye
Then breathe a most welcome sigh of relief
It was only a kitten all the while
You finally relax and sit down
The feline purrs as you stroke her slow
You feel like a cross between a child and a clown
As you return to your room with a new friend
Something behind you catches your ear
A cold touch on your shoulder, you scream
The cat scampers off, you turn, you're the only one here
You slam and lock your solid, heavy door
You are quaking to the very bone
Cover your ears and hide from the eerie noises
But you can't escape the sounds of an uneasy soul

Wibble wobble goes the jellyfish,
like seethrough jelly on a dish.
Swissh swissh goes the sharks tail,
he caught fifty fish without fail.
Click click goes the crabs claws,
He has only his pincers, no jaws.
These are just a few of the animals that live in the sea,
they are very fascinating to you and me!!!

I see the apprehension hidden behind those timid eyes
Trying desperately to keep the wall standing strong
I remember being like you, trying to keep everyone out....
We erect barricades to avoid vulnerability,
But in this struggle to ostracize the demons
We shelter ourselves from the good, the harmony, the love
That so many have to offer
In our attempts to resurrect the perfect defense,
The wholesome purity of love fighting for a way in,
Gets pushed aside to make way for the fear we hold inside
What are we afraid of?
Love? It's our only chance of escaping this blind tomb
The light we discovered in the smile, the eyes, the touch of another
Trying to guide us away from the dark world we constructed
We could open the gates, extend ourselves to this new feeling
Bestow to this being what we have to offer
Perhaps we could uncover what we've trapped inside this prison we assembled
But instead, we turn from them, turn from ourselves, and hide
Hide from the smile for fear it might bite
Hide from the eyes for fear they might see the truth
Hide from happiness for fear it won't last
Hide from security for fear it will fail
Hide from love for fear we might find it

Blackness
Anna Coppola
Where do I go when I am not here ?
I know not what tomorrow brings and I am scared
What if life has been all the good for me it will ever be ?
Will it be hard, as my nightmares are lonely and hard?
Tell me, why do I feel like my life is monotonous? Repetitive ?
Living life over and over again same things always....
I see shadows pass out in the night
Let me follow you, let me follow you to the edge that is so final
Where do you go end it all?
Felt as though eyes were pushing me harder and deeper into
the fathomless fear and beyond, why ? I AM GONE
Flashback into my brain, Don't forget to tell me all about it
Vagrant thoughts flushed into my head
Reach into tomorrow and pull out yesterday and all that is beyond
My head is full, My heart and soul are as empty as a dried up well
And I ask you, where do I go when I am not here?
Do you see the truths in my eyes,The pain crawling through my skin ?
Please as I beg ... Tell me ,tell me what I want to know
And I will believe
Lies and all....

Clouds
You live in clouds
and when you descend
What do you see?
With dark green eyes
and a dreamfilled soul
you delight my senses
and I see
your long awaited awakening
But then reality
intrudes
and falls over
your perfect feet
and of course
you tripped him
So now what?
You live in clouds
and when you descend
What do you see?

Indifference
Erika Lynn
Trudging through life, does anyone see how arrogance leads to suffering ?
We all think we know all there is to know about a given someone or something. Yet do we?
Does my pale and sweet and china doll face belay the hatred of the human race?
Can you judge me by the mask I assume?
Do you feel my angst and heart in ruin?
What do you see when you see me...if you see me?
Shakespeare says "What a piece of work is man!"
What a tangled mess we create like recalcitrant children unwilling to be tamed.
What a piece of work indeed.

His Hand Letting Go
by David Koepke
His hand letting go of
the Apollo lifeline--
The fingers relax wide.
Solar rays like
rough hammered bronze
burst upon his palm.
---------------------------------------
She was simply there, an incarnation of herself.
No longer a nexus of adjectives but pure and present noun.
I noticed the little fine hairs on her legs,
A speck of sleep in the canthus of her eye.
No longer Our lady of the Enigmas, but a girl, just a girl.
And somehow by being suddenly there like this
She made the things around her be there too.
In her, and in what she spoke, the world, the little world in which we sat.
Found it's grounding and was realized.
It was as if she had dropped a spreading drop of colour
Into the water of the world and the colour had spread
And the outlines of things had sprung into bright relief.
As I sat with my mouth open and listened to her, I felt everyone
And everything shiver and shift, falling into the most vivid of forms
Detaching themselves from me and my conception of them.
And changing themselves instead into what they were
No longer figment, no longer mystery, No longer a part of my imagining.
And I, I was there amongst them, at last.

Death
-Luke Edwards
I stare coldly at Death's face,
He stares back at me,
I show him none of my feelings,
But my emotions he can see.
He sees no fear, regrets or sorrow,
No hopes, dreams or thoughts of tomorrow.
And so he digs deeper,
But finds only black,
He reaches out to touch me,
Then draws his hand back.
Death stares at me coldly,
As he takes his final breathe,
And I stare coldly at his corpse,
Laughing that I killed Death.

The
Hedge
By Wallace A. Zard
I'm a weed whackin' guy
I'm a lawn mowin' man
Given' lawn bags a try
Keepin' gardens spick and span
See me riding on my mower
Trimming nature with a line
Take a look at my leaf blower
You'll agree it's very fine
Steamin' up some compost
Greenin' up some lawn
Some say I'm the utmost
Dip shit, fool, moron
My mom still thinks I'm super
That's what makes it hard
She wants to grease my pooper
When I'm working in the yard
Not for foolish reasons
Not for porno cash
But in the summer seasons
Seems my buttocks gets a rash

Love After Life
Jennifer FairLady
It was an early summer morning, I had to say goodbye,
I looked at her soft, pale body and tried not to cry.
The priest started to speak, but I couldn't here a word he said,
As i placed a dozen roses on my mother's bed.
I tried to hold the tears back with memories of the past,
But it's hard to think just two days ago was our very last.
We were laughing and smiling over something dumb,
When suddenly out of nowhere a man pulled a gun.
He was a friend of my mother's, well we thought until that night,
And i looked into my mothers eyes and saw nothing but fright.
I turned and saw the gun staring me in the eyes,
And all I could do was watch and cry.
My mother flung herself i front of me as he started to shoot,
And she screamed out "I love you".
Those were her last words,
My mother saved my life, and I will always remember hers.

THE SHOOTING
By shannon lindsay
They were walking in the halls of their school today.
Nothing to really talk about but always a lot to say.
They did not know that today would be different
Nor did any teachers read the threatening death letter that was sent
So when second period ended and lunch began,
There were shooting sounds echoing and the students ran.
There was no place to go for no place was safe from danger.
The shooter was probably someone you knew.
Besides it is never a stranger.
So they found places to hide,
Helping others but always praying they would not be the next to die.
Soon help arrived and the school was searched.
The police were seeking for the killer that still lurked.
As time went by, the shooting did not end.
Sitting there hiding, you hoped it was not a friend.
Three hours passed and they found him at last.
He had ended his life with his own gun's blast.
Now a few weeks later, things are still hard.
You are sitting outside staring into your dead best friend's yard.
You are remembering everything the two of you used to do.
How suddenly her life ended out of the blue.
For on that very day that will never be out of our minds,
Your friend threw her life in front of you, showing a love that was blind.
Taking a bullet, she died that day,
Saving your life, leaving hers with nothing left to say.
You know you are alive because of your friend that you loved,
Who must have been sent from heaven above.
These are innocent people whose lives have been changed forever,
Because of one child's stupidity and an unread letter.

MY CONNECTION
TYLER GODWIN
I RELEASED MY SOUL INTO THE AIR
FOR NO LONGER WILL IT BE ANCHORED BY MY BODY
UP HIGH IT WILL GLIDE PASS MY DAYDREAMS
INTO A NEW LEVEL OF BEING THAT IS.
THAT IS EYE AND I SEEN BY ONE,
ONE TIME SET BY NO CHRONOLOGY.
I A FLICKER OF A CANDLE DARKNESS ROAMS
BUT ONLY TO HEAR ITS' NAME .
I CONQUERED FEAR WITH MY NAME
FOR FEAR REALIZED THE SOUND OF ITS' MAKER
SO FROM WITHIN ME COMES THE STRENGTH
TO GIVE FREEDOM TO MY SOUL.

Made In Heaven
B.G Dingess
When I make mistakes and falter
He is always there for me
He speaks softly in the night
He Shows me what I can be
He tells me if I'm willing
He will shape and mold the clay
Into a vessel to be proud of
Whom by the Masters hand was made
Though people may think me strange
I won't let it bother me
I'm not here to please man
I'm what the Father made me to be
He doesn't make mistakes
I'm just part of His plan
I'm just here to be a vessel
Made by the Master's hand
We all are vessels to be used
Each one made by his hands
We are to walk where he leads
We all are part of his plan
To give deliverance to the lost
To set the captives free
We are to claim no glory for ourselves
We're what he made us to be

MEDUSA, ICE QUEEN
T. SCOTT SMITH
THERE SHE IS !
OH MY GOD, SHE'S LOOKING IN MY DIRECTION,
SHE'S STARING AT ME!
SHE HAS EX RAY VISION, AND SEES THROUGH THE
FABRIC OF MY CLOTHS;
THROUGH THE VERY FABRIC OF MY BEING,
INTO THE DEPTHS OF MY SOUL,
WHERE ALL MY DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS HIDE.
BEFORE HER, I STAND NAKED IN SHAME, UNWORTHY
OF HER EYES FALLING UPON ME
SHE TURNS HER EYES AWAY, AND MOVES ON.
IM SCARRED FOR LIFE;
SHE LOOKS ON TO THE NEXT FACE,
SOONER THAN SHE WILL EVER HAVE THE
NEED, TO REMEMBER MINE.
